Computer Vision in Brazil

been growing significantly in Brazil in recent years. This research is characterized by applying pattern recognition techniques in digital images. Furthermore, the study of cognitive methods, biological, physical and statistical processes has been generating solutions for important problems in several areas, going from industrial inspection systems to autonomous surgery. The main goal for the Workshop on Computer Vision is the integration of Brazilian researchers through the presentation and discussion of significant scientific and/or applied research developed at universities and/ or research institutes throughout Brazil. The Workshop is also a place for discussion related to Image Processing and Computer Vision education in Brazil. The Workshop is in its fifth edition and it has been growing in importance as well as in participation, reaching almost all regions in the country and also some neighbor countries in South America.
